Next Step Ministry

Mondays, 6:00 - 8:00

We invite anyone in our community in need of a helping hand.  A free, hot meal is served at 6:00.  Stay and enjoy the company of new friends!  After a short Bible study, we offer groceries, clothing, shoes and blankets free to anyone in need.  Hot showers are also available.  

Please enter through the back of the Fellowhip Hall.  The doors are located on Midland Avenue, across from the Kentucky Fried Chicken drive through.  Look for the “Next Step” sign on the church building by the entrance.

An Angel Watching Over You

Mondays, Noon - 3:00:  Food distribution at 506 Midland Ave.
Tues. - Fri., 9 am - 2 pm:  Assistance for those in need

An Angel Watching Over You (AAWOY) ministry is directed by Lisa Ortiz.  AAWOY honors the memory of Lisa’s mother, who loved to help the homeless.  

AAWOY is located in a church-owned house that is being used for this ministry.  The house is located behind the church buildings at 506 Midland Avenue.  

Romeo Club

3rd Tuesday, monthly at 8:30

While the ROMEO Club is officially for “Retired Old Men Eating Out”, any man is welcome - retired and old, or not!  

The ROMEO Club meets on the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 8:30 for breakfast at Bubbalou’s Restaurant by Publix on Rock Springs Road.  

Lamplighters Luncheon

2nd Tuesday, monthly at 11:30

The 50 and over crowd fellowships over lunch at the church fellowship hall on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 11:30.  Please, bring your favorite covered dish to share.  Most of all - bring a friend!

Visitation:  Every Tuesday at 6:00

We are told to take the message to the world!  Join us Tuesdays at 6:00 p.m. in the Welcome Center to visit people that have been guests on Sunday or duing the week at various activities.

Lori Jean Smith performs October 10

First Baptist Church of Apopka is privilidged to welcome Lori Jean Smith to our Lamplighters Luncheon on Tuesday, October 10 at 11:30.   Lamplighters Luncheon is a gathering for Senior Citizens only.  Please RSVP 407.886.2628 and don’t forget, Seniors, please bring your favorite covered dish to share.

Lori Jean Smith began her musical career at the age of 5 and was brought up in a strong Christian environment. She plays to the glory of God; in the words of J.S. Bach, “I play the notes…God makes the music.” Lori has performed with the Springfield Symphony in Ohio, the Wichita Symphony, and the Utah Symphony in Salt Lake City. Additionally, she has shared the stage with Rosemary Clooney, Tony Bennett, and Doc Severenson (of Johnny Carson fame). She was also the lead violinist in several Broadway company theater performances. Her clients include McDonald’s and Disney World.
